How might we create meaningful connections to combat urban loneliness?

The Challenge: A City Full of People, Yet Lonely

Loneliness in cities isn’t always about isolation, it’s about being surrounded by people but never truly connecting. In places like Delhi NCR, where millions share the same streets, cafés, and metro stations, meaningful interactions remain rare. Life moves fast, and making friends outside of work or social circles feels nearly impossible.

I wanted to explore a simple yet powerful idea: what if we made it easier for people to form spontaneous connections, not through forced networking or dating apps, but through real, unstructured moments of shared interests?

Introducing mo:mnt – A Space for Micro-Connections in the City

Instead of formal events or big social gatherings, mo:mnt is designed for small, organic meetups- “micro-moments” that bring strangers together over something they love. Think of a poetry reading in a tiny bookstore, a rooftop music jam, or a casual chess game in a park. These are low-pressure, easy ways for people to find others who share their vibe. Mo:mnt meetups are always non-ticketed and requires no payment. Meetups are Buy-Your-Own or Bring-Your-Own.

A Different Approach to Socializing

Unlike ticketing platforms that promote large-scale events, mo:mnt is about the smaller, more personal experiences that get lost in a big city. Anyone can host or join a mo:mnt, creating a more democratic and secure way to build real-life connections. No pressure, no expectations, just a shared experience.
